Overview of Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our Field Technical Solutions (FTS) team in San Jose, CA. This position is all about problem solving.  We interact with leading semiconductor companies every day and work with them to understand their challenges and then provide solutions. Our mission is to empower our customers to effectively and efficiently engage on TSMC technologies to create amazing products.  We strive to enable every tapeout to happen on time and be first time right.  We collaborate with our customers across the US and worldwide, North American Sales and TSMC’s Headquarters in Taiwan. You will work in a small team and report to the FTS Deputy Director.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and trust with customers
  • Fully understand customers’ products, roadmaps and technical needs in order to find an optimum solution for both the customer and TSMC
  • Drive multiple teams to develop competitive and creative technical solutions, while ensuring efficient use of TSMC’s resources
  • Provide local technical support
  • Work closely with domain experts in North America and Taiwan as required
  • Ensure clear and accurate external and internal communication

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar with 12+ years of industry experience in planar and Finfet technology
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor technology, design methodology, EDA and IP
  • Hands on design experience of Libraries/IP and/or products
  • Self-motivated with an innately curious personality and a desire to learn

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design knowledge in two or more of the following areas:
    • Digital, Embedded, Memories, Automotive, SiPho
  • Able to lead in-depth technical discussions, ask questions and be an active listener
  • Proven problem solver with a strong technical background
  • Effective presenter and communicator with strong oral and written abilities
  • Able to effectively position and present technology to different audiences

Pay Transparency / Benefits statement

At TSMC, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role typically pays a base salary between $125,000 and $210,000 per year. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range. Factors that influence pay include the individual's skills, qualifications, education, experience and the position level and location.  TSMC’s total compensation package consists of market competitive pay, allowances, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. We also offer extensive development opportunities and programs.
