Yield Enhancement Technician

As a Yield Enhancement (Defect) Technician, you will be working within the Process Integration Engineering Department in a dynamic and fast paced environment where sustaining semi-conductor manufacturing line stability is a critical company mission. The Yield Enhancement Team monitors, controls, and reduces inline defect sources to ensure the highest quality products are delivered to our customers. Our unique skillset is to apply knowledge of wafer processing and equipment to detect and evaluate optical or laser scanned defects and identify their sources. As a Yield Enhancement Technician you will be the first line of defense to identify abnormal defect conditions and work with process and equipment counterparts to stop and correct source. You will also support engineering activities for continuous improvement of quality and productivity. The right candidate will possess an innate curiosity into how things work and the patience and attention to detail to effectively, handle large amounts of data throughout a 12 hour shift. Adherence to procedures is necessary, but the ability to logically analyze, recognize, and correctly react to unusual situations is essential. A high degree of problem-solving skills and satisfactions in meeting challenges is very desirable.
Position typically assigned to a 12-hour day or night shift compressed work week schedule with 3 days on one week and 4 days on the next.
Responsibilities include:
- Utilize a variety of metrology equipment (Bright-Field/Dark-Field wafer scan tools, OM, SEM/EDX)
- Review and disposition of OOC/OOS conditions of scanned lots for both known and novel defect types
- Follow standard operating procedures for consistent, accurate, and efficient handling of various situations
- Sustain consistent and accurate defect classifications
- Analyze and control WIP management based on daily mission priorities
- Conduct defect source analysis and create, issue, and maintain defect notice reporting
- Maintain a team oriented attitude within and across departments to contain and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Working understanding of semi-conductor wafer process flow form bare wafer to final parametric electrical testing

Requirements:
- Associates of Science degree or equivalent coursework and/or military experience preferred
- Logical problem solving and critical thinking
- Ability to make informed decision when SOP does not exist
- Comprehend and apply procedures in typical and unexpected situations
- Professional attitude even during high stress situations
- Multitasking and priority setting capabilities
- Ability to self-manage and work efficiently
- Excellent attendance and willingness to work overtime

At TSMC, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role typically pays a base salary between $26.08 and $31.35 per hour. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range.
