TSMC Arizona is looking for a Hookup Safety Engineer to join our F21 FAB project located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. As a Hookup Safety Engineer, you will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability, enthusiasm, and will possess an attitude that embodies our core values – Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust.
As a Safety Engineer, you will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment within semiconductor facilities. This position focuses on monitoring safety practices, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and providing initial risk assessments.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety inspections in cleanroom environments and other semiconductor workspaces.
- Enforcing compliance with all appliable rules, regulations and standards, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI requirements, as well as company safety policies and requirements.
- Perform hazard identification, safety inspections, training, and compliance monitoring during equipment installation and construction activities.
- Ensure industrial hygiene principles are upheld in day-to-day operations.
- Implement and enforce comprehensive safety protocols and compliance across all contractor and subcontractor activities on site.
- Conduct and implement job-specific safety plan, JSAs, risk assessments and reports to identify potential hazards.
- Perform regular site inspections and audits to identify and address unsafe conditions and practices.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and specialized safety management software for documentation and scheduling tasks.
- Support the development and implementation of safety training sessions for employees.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 years of safety-related experience.
- Skills:

- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI standard, principles of industrial hygiene and construction safety practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software tools.
- Comfortable working in clean rooms and wearing specialized PPE when necessary.
- Strong communication and observation skills.
- Be willing to support international projects, which may include traveling overseas for extended periods (period depend on business need) to assist team efforts.
Certifications:
- Valid OSHA #30
- Preferred First Aid/CPR/AED
- Preferred LOTO
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of lifting materials, working on ladders/lifts, and standing for long periods of time
- May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.
- Required to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and to adjust heavy objects.
- The position will come in contact with sharp, hot, and cold equipment, and parts.
- Must be medically qualified to wear a personal respirator.
- Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with industrial chemical operations, exposure to the sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment.

Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix Arizona facility.
Standard work hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
