Summer 2026 - SRAM Memory Development Intern (7322)
Overview of Role and Responsibilities
TSMC’s Austin Design Center has an opening for a SRAM Memory Design Intern. As an intern, you will be embedded in a memory development team working on state-of-the-art memory architectures and processes. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in several possible areas, including design verification, schematic and layout development and optimization, timing and power characterization, and various flow developments, using the latest EDA tools. We are currently operating in a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in office.
This Internship Program is open to students currently enrolled in a reputable University that are graduating in 1 year with a MS/PhD degree (2027 graduation). The Summer 2026 internship will begin in May 2026 and continue through August 2026 with the possibility of extending further beyond.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be actively pursuing a master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering
- Strong academic background with relevant course work in circuit design, VLSI, or memory design
- Familiar w/ digital design concepts and EDA tools (e.g. SPICE, Cadence Virtuoso)
- Interest in SRAM development
- Good team skills and strong work ethic
- Fluent in English, and able to clearly articulate advanced concepts verbally and in presentation
- Passionate about learning, problem-solving and attention to detail
- Strong ownership and commitment to assignment and project schedule
- Self-motivated and ability to easily collaborate with others
- Strong Listening/Understanding/Responding skills
- Mature, confident and ability to work independently
- Proficient with linux operating system, and Microsoft excel and powerpoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong motivation to establish career in silicon chip design area using advanced technologies
- Fluent in linux OS and one or more linux scripting languages
- Basic understanding memory architecture
- Any Memory design experience is a plus!
