Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented AI & Image Processing Intern to assist in the development and fine-tuning of our AI systems. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates in Computer Science or related fields who have a keen interest in machine learning, artificial intelligence or image processing.

 

Key Objectives:

Fine-Tune Scratch Detection & Enhance Image Comparison Algorithms: 

Collaborate with our team to enhance AI models for detecting scratches on wafers, ensuring high accuracy and reliability. Work on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our image comparison algorithms, leveraging advanced AI techniques.

Streamline Image Collection Flow: 

Assist in optimizing our image collection processes to ensure seamless data acquisition, management and scalability.

Comprehensive AI Model for Defect Detection:

Use the techniques you learned to prepare an AI model for identifying and classifying different types of defects on the wafer.

 

Requirements

  • Completion of sophomore year of college in a related degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25

  • Ability to work in the United States on a long-term basis

  • Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm) on-site at our Cama, WA location, from:

    • Semester system: May 19th, 2025 – August 8th, 2025

    • Quarter system: June 23rd, 2025 - September 12th, 2025

  • Good problem-solving skills, communication ability, team spirit, active learning attitude.

  • Strong proficiency in the Python programming language.

  • Solid understanding of machine learning and AI concepts. 

  • Experience with image processing tools and techniques is a plus.

 

Pay Transparency & Other Compensation

At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting wage typically ranges between $23.00  and $27.00  per hour.
