Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a motivated four Software Engineer Intern to join our Manufacturing Information Tech team! As a Software Engineer Intern, you will be provided an excellent opportunity to research a semiconductor industry and work on multiple projects. Projects will vary but will include but not limited to, communication protocol (E84), build a simulation environment from scratch, and learn how the protocol works. Also focus on creating a Java JNI/JACOB application utilizing the C library to explore the possibility of a new generation 200mm MES, web implementation with NATS and MariaDB solutions.
Additional projects include participate in studying our unique industrial C library APIs on paperback manual, studying NATS and MariaDB mechanisms, and implement a web application as our Unit Test utility. A full-stack web development, from front-end GUI to back-end server, focus on implementing the Syslog mechanism, which is the default logging mechanism in UNIX-like systems, into Windows and studies Syslog mechanisms, survey 3rd party Syslog implementations for Windows, and adopt or develop.
The intern will be provided a mentor to guide activities ranging from learning IT internal system architectures, building computer systems, writing simulation programs, and integration testing various h/w and s/w components.
Prefer applicant majoring in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with experience in PC hardware and serial/ethernet communication, plus strong R&D capabilities, and good hands-on skills.
Requirements
- Completion of sophomore year of college in a related degree program
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25
- Ability to work in the United States on a long-term basis
- Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm) on-site at our Cama, WA location, from:
- Semester system: May 19th, 2025 – August 8th, 2025
- Quarter system: June 23rd, 2025 - September 12th, 2025
- Good problem-solving skills, communication ability, team spirit, active learning attitude.
Pay Transparency & Other Compensation
At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting wage typically ranges between $23.00 and $27.00 per hour.
