Who We're Looking For:

We are seeking a qualified Laboratory Technician with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline. Preferred candidates will have prior laboratory experience.  The successful candidate will join our dynamic cleanroom laboratory team, which plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing quality control processes. The role involves a variety of analytical tasks that vary on a day-to-day basis, offering opportunities for involvement in technical projects and instrument maintenance.

 

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

 

  • Follow safety protocols per station and tasking requirements.

  • Perform routine chemical, air, and bacteria monitoring sampling.

  • Perform sample prep for analysis.

  • Perform wet chemistry analysis.

  • Calibrate and operate analytical instruments for trace metal or ionic analysis

  • Assist in non-routine sampling and analysis.

  • Will have responsibility for recording and identifying contamination levels,

  • As anomalies are found and confirmed, issue notices and assist recovery.

  • Assist in performing instrument maintenance.

  • Maintain analytical records.

  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping, environment, and protocols.

  • Once certified and understand the lab function fully, can be expected to work solo.

  • Be part of our team’s on-call schedule.

  • Support Fab manufacturing operations.

  • Ability to communicate across departments.

 

Minimum Requirements: 
 

  • Good understanding of analytical chemical principles.

  • Experience in any of the following tools and techniques: ICP-MS, GFAA, IC, VPD-ICP-MS, AMC monitoring, ultra-trace analysis, is preferred.

  • Wet chemistry experience and sample preparation skills.

  • Chemical respirator protocols must be met (appropriate facial hair).

  • Clean room experience and/or experience in IC manufacturing a plus.

  • Computer experience with spreadsheets and word processor a must.

  • Problem solving, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-starter, able to work in team environment, as well as individually.

  • Capable for prioritization, multitasking, and time management.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Initial training on day or mid shift; long term expected to support schedule rotation and/or enhanced coverage shift(s).

  • Minimum associate degree in chemistry or equivalent coursework or experience.

  • 2+ years' experience in an Analytical Chemical Lab.

  • >2 years' experience with IC manufacturing a plus.

  • Must be able to work any shift

 Work Location & Schedule: 
 

This position operates on-site at our Camas, Washington location.Position typically assigned to a 12-hour day or night shift compressed work week schedule with 3 days on one week and 4 days on the next. Customized shift schedule plus on-call rotation expected (after training).

At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting salary typically ranges between $27.65 and $31.34 per year. The full salary range for this Job Grade extends from $27.65-$33.98, depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, tenure, and position level. TSMC’s total compensation package also includes market-competitive pay, profit sharing and incentive bonuses, and tuition assistance.
