Who We're Looking For:

As a member of the Facilities team in the role of Mechanical Technician, your primary duty will be to oversee the upkeep and functionality of all HVAC equipment, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and air handling units. Additionally, you will maintain other miscellaneous facility equipment, such as specialty air abatement systems, vacuum systems, process cooling water systems, as well as all associated piping, ductwork, and control components. Your responsibilities will include monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment daily, while also working in coordination with engineers and contractors to ensure seamless plant operations that do not interfere with the manufacturing process.

 

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Perform daily operations including daily rounds, shift pass downs, reviewing trend data, responding to system alarms, receiving chemical deliveries, and maintaining area 6S.
  • Technicians will train under senior technicians and engineers, performing written OJT (On the Job Training) panels as systems are learned. 
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on various equipment and systems, utilizing written procedures, O&M manuals, drawings and diagrams, and assist in construction and commissioning related to system improvements and new system installs.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field, preferred.
  • Strong professional attitude with a safety focus, excellent teamwork skills, self-motivation, and reliability in work execution.
  • Computer skills including MS office and ability to learn new programs specific to the job.
  • Ability to read plant and equipment drawings/controls diagrams.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude/troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands on experience with piping, electrical, HVAC, or similar.
  • Experience with hand/power tools piping, pumps, motors, fans, etc.
  • Technical knowledge of semiconductor /industrial mechanical equipment (HVAC, air handling units, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, process piping systems, air abatement systems, etc.) preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of industrial controls systems (SCADAs, Allen Bradley PLCs, etc.) preferred.
  • Occasional work in a clean room wearing clean room attire.
  • Ability to work any shift. (day or night)
  • Ability to work overtime when requested.
  • Ability to be a member of the Emergency Response Team. (ERT)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to spend majority of shift on feet, both walking and standing, with occasional sitting.
  • Frequent coordinated use of hands
  • Lift and or carry up to [50] pounds.
  • Pushing or pulling [50] pounds.
  • Occasionally reach, bend forward while standing, or squat.

Work Location & Schedule: 

This position operates on-site at our Camas, Washington location on a 12-hour compressed work schedule (3 days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 days on, 3 days off). The current position is for compressed day shift, though future needs are unknown and there may be the potential for night shift requirements. There may also be occasions when additional hours are necessary to meet project demands.

Pay Transparency & Other Compensation

At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting salary typically ranges between $27.65 and $31.34 per hour. The full salary range for this Job Grade extends from $27.65 - $33.98 depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, tenure, and position level. TSMC’s total compensation package also includes market-competitive pay, profit sharing and incentive bonuses, and tuition assistance.

 

* This position is also eligible for a Sign-On Bonus depending on various factors.
