Who We're Looking For:
TSMC, the world's leading independent semiconductor foundry, is seeking highly motivated, results-oriented, and forward-thinking individuals to join our team as a Sr. CMP/WET Engineer . This pivotal role is located within our fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment at TSMC WA, offering a dynamic range of technical challenges and opportunities for significant impact.
In this role you will support and be involved with troubleshooting, maintaining and improving technical CMP, WET ETCH, and automated handling equipment, components and assemblies. You will assist with all tasks related and assigned to the equipment group. You must be willing to learn new responsibilities as required and constructively work as a team with different types of technicians, engineers and managers.
You will be responsible for tool installation, hook-up and acceptance as applicable. You will be expected to identify improvement opportunities to increase Equipment KPI. You will become certified on a variety of tool types and support and maintain spare parts inventory. Other responsibilities will be to check and utilize RTM (real time monitoring), SPC, Parts Tracking System, and other interrelated systems as applicable.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or quality system
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities
- Initiate, recommend and provide solutions, verify implementation of those solutions and control further processing or delivery until the deficiency has been corrected
- Control area budget by creating and implanting cost savings ideas
- Perform high-level troubleshooting on robotics, mechanical, pneumatic, chemical and electrical systems
- Perform routine maintenance and provide improvement opportunities for their procedures
- Implement/maintain certification programs
- Create training material for maintenance tasks
- Implement CIP programs to improve tool reliability and availability
Required Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
- 3+ years CMP or WET Etch Semiconductor Experience preferred but not required
- Proven ability to rapidly assimilate complex technical information, coupled with strong leadership potential and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
- Exceptional tenacity, adaptability, and resilience in a demanding, high-volume production setting.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to precision in all aspects of work.
- Superior critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and execute complex action plans effectively.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Work Location & Schedule:
This position operates on-site at our Camas, Washington location during core business hours, Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm; however, there may be occasions when additional hours are necessary to meet project demands.

At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting salary typically ranges between $92,220 and $124,664 per year. The full salary range for this Job Grade extends from $92,220 - $135,480 depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, tenure, and position level. TSMC’s total compensation package also includes market-competitive pay, profit sharing and incentive bonuses, and tuition assistance.
