As a Yield Enhancement (Defect) Engineer, this position will be working within the PIE department in a dynamic and fast paced environment where sustain semiconductor manufacturing line stability is a critical company mission. This is an exempt level position where additional work hours during nights and or weekend may be required at times and the position requires carrying a pager and responding in at timely manner for a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
While this position is scheduled to work core business hours, Monday-Friday, there may be times when additional hours are necessary.
Responsibilities include:
- Will utilize a variety of metrology equipment (bright-field/Dark-field wafer scan tools, OM, SEM/EDX) to analyze in process semiconductor wafers for defect related abnormalities
- In depth investigation of defect detection for rapid source assignment by accurate characterization of defect type and identification of probably processing cause.
- Maintain baseline defect stability by routine statistical performance evaluation, generating technical reports and leading cross team improvement activities with multiple equipment and process engineering departments.
- Create, maintain and enhance standard operating procedures for yes team accuracy and efficiently.
- Understanding of entire semiconductor wafer process flow from bare wafer to final paramedic electrical testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above STEM related field of study required
- Hands on experience with analytical instrumentation/metrology equipment (data acquisition and interpretation)
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Detail oriented with excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- Project management capability
- Familiarly with SPC concept practice and statistical data analysis
- Programming or semiconductor fabrication experience a plus
- Self-starting highly motivated individuals
- 2-5 years related experience
Responsibilities included:
- Transferring new products and technologies from TSMC headquarters.
- Reviewing daily WAT and online/offline abnormal signal and implementing containment and preventative actions.
- Collaborating with FAB engineering team to improve yield and WAY stability and reduce process defects.
- Providing technical support to mixed signal customers.
- Customized structure process integration development.

Work Location & Schedule:
On-site at Camas, Washington, Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm. Additional hours may be required.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary and position placement will be determined based on an individual’s education, experience, and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities. Candidates will be assigned to the appropriate job level, with the corresponding salary range:
- Entry Level: $83,130 – $110,840 per year.
- Senior Level: $88,672 – $133,008 per year.
- Principal Level: $102,314 – $163,702 per year.
TSMC's total compensation package also includes profit sharing and incentive bonuses, tuition assistance, and accrue 120 hours of paid time off annually their first year.
