Overview of Role

The Senior Digital Verification Engineering role is a full-time permanent and hybrid position, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  The strategic nature of the role revolves around a forward-thinking approach to productivity and quality within the Verification space for Semiconductors, enabling re-use and structural testbenches. 

 

Ninety percent of this role is dedicated to working on M/R-RAM and ETC, and BISTR/Control Logic/TVs for NVM & emerging memories include CIM (if required).   Experience and working knowledge in UMV is of utmost importance as this modern approach to verification is anticipated to be strategically valuable to our customers in the future.

 

In addition, ten percent of the Sr.  Digital Verification Engineering role may work  with design teams to validate digital circuit implementations, develop test benches, perform functional verification preparing Manufacturing/tester patterns and debug of failing tests. The successful candidate will also contribute to the customization of standard digital verification methodologies and help improve the electronic design automation (EDA) capabilities of the group.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years’ experience in digital design verification and Verilog testbench and Universal Verification Module (UVM) development
  • Logic and timing simulation using Verilog simulation tools (VCS, NCVerilog)
  • Experienced in large scale chip design and sign-off process
  • Knowledge of Nano scale technology issues and challenges
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and writing) in English

 

 

Significant Assets

  • Experience in circuit level verification using SPICE simulation tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with teams in diverse locations and time zones
  • Experience with Design for Test Techniques, implementation, and verification
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience writing and debugging simulation test benches and tools, as well as proficiency in SystemVerilog, Universal Verification Module (UVM), assertions, system level verification methodologies and debugging tools
  • Experience with verification planning, code and functional coverage, assertion-based verification, and formal verification is a definite plus
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, scripting languages, and EDA tools such as Synopsys VCS or Cadence Incisive tools

 

Travel Requirement

  • May be required to travel to TSMC or customer locations; not expected to exceed 1-2 weeks at a time and not more than 1 - 2 times/year.
