Summer 2026 - Memory Design Engineer Intern (7323)

Overview of Role 

As an Intern for our Memory Design Engineering team, within TSMC Design Technology Canada Incorporated, you will work on a defined project focused on advanced memory design and compiler development.

Working and learning under the direction of a senior member of the team, you will work on defined segments of projects, using the world’s most advanced CMOS/FinFET processes. As your skills progress, progressively increasing challenges “may” be assigned. 

 

Responsibilities could include:

  • Circuit design, analog simulation, functional verification, debugging
  • Circuit characterization, transistor level implementation, optimization
  • Net listing, flow scripting, design verification, database management
  • Completion of learning curve milestones as set out within individual intern project objectives

Qualifications

  • 2nd year in a master’s or PhD program in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Some background in circuit design, preferably memory circuit
  • Competent using some of the major custom design CAD tools. e.g. Schematic Capture, Analog and Digital simulators, Behavioral modeling, Functional & Timing Validation, IR/EM Analysis, Physical Verification tools DRC, LVS and Extraction, Database management
  • High integrity, goal orientated, custom oriented, committed to learning
  • Ability to work well with others and individually with a strong sense of enthusiasm and curiosity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful completion and evaluation of prior internship placement(s) with other Semiconductor companies in Memory
  • Hands-on experience in designing Memory macros, CIM or emerging memory is a significant asset
  • Scripting and programming skills
  • Knowledge of AI and ML
  • Interest in a long-term career in Semiconductors

At the time of this posting, this role typically pays an hourly rate between $34.00 and $38.00 per hour. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range.
