The ECIM Assistant (Data Logic) provides critical technical support for the Engineering Computer Integrated Manufacturing (ECIM) and Failure Detection and Classification (FDC) systems within TSMC's advanced semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role focuses on ensuring optimal system performance, data integrity, and seamless integration of automated failure detection capabilities that are essential for maintaining production quality and equipment reliability. Working closely with engineering teams and equipment specialists, the ECIM Assistant helps maintain the sophisticated monitoring and control systems that enable world-class semiconductor manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • FDC System Management & Maintenance
    • Set up, configure, and maintain FDC system key performance indicators and monitoring parameters.
    • Monitor real-time system performance data to identify anomalies and trending issues requiring attention.
    • Coordinate with engineering teams and module sponsors to optimize FDC system functionality and effectiveness.
    • Perform routine system health checks, preventive maintenance, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous operation.
    • Troubleshoot FDC system alerts, configure monitoring thresholds, and calibrate alarm parameters based on process requirements.
    • Document system changes, updates, and maintenance activities according to established protocols.
  • Technical Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
    • Translate complex technical manuals and operating instructions into clear, actionable procedures for manufacturing teams.
    • Create and maintain training materials, visual aids, flowcharts, and reference guides for FDC system operation and troubleshooting.
    • Update documentation to reflect system modifications, process improvements, and best practices.
    • Coordinate knowledge transfer sessions between shifts and departments to ensure consistent system understanding.
    • Support the creation of standardized work instructions and procedures related to FDC activities.
  • Training & Skills Development Support
    • Assist in training engineers and technicians on FDC system operation through hands-on demonstrations and guided practice sessions.
    • Develop and deliver training sessions on configuration changes, system updates, and new procedures.
    • Support certification processes for personnel working with critical monitoring and control systems.
    • Maintain training records and track completion of required certifications for FDC system operators.
  • Communication & Coordination
    • Serve as the primary liaison between production teams, engineering, and IT support for FDC system-related issues.
    • Communicate system status, planned maintenance activities, and potential impacts to stakeholders across multiple shifts.
    • Coordinate with module sponsors to prioritize system enhancements and address operational concerns.
    • Maintain effective communication with vendor support teams for system upgrades and technical issues.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or vocational school graduate (or equivalent).
  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Relevant technical certifications in industrial automation or control systems are advantageous.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for presentations.
  • Basic understanding of industrial control systems, data acquisition, and monitoring technologies.
  • Familiarity with database concepts and data management principles.
  • Ability to learn specialized software applications quickly.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control concepts is preferred.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail for accuracy in working with complex technical data.
  • Effective verbal and written communication across diverse technical and operational teams.
  • Demonstrates self-learning ability and initiative to acquire new technical knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills for troubleshooting issues.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in cleanroom environments and adhere to semiconductor manufacturing safety protocols.

Training:

  • Capability to assist in delivering technical training programs.
  • Ability to travel to Taiwan for training (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or similar industrial software platforms.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques.
  • Background in semiconductor equipment operation or maintenance.
  • Previous experience in technical training delivery or instructional design.
