TSMC Arizona’s first fab will operate its leading-edge semiconductor process technology (N4 process), starting production in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize its leading-edge N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. As an HR Specialist at TSMC's high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility, you will provide comprehensive HR administrative and strategic support and serve as the backbone for our HR Business Partners while delivering front-line employee services. This fast-paced role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, extensive use of Excel, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic fast paced scaling manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of HR experience in manufacturing/industrial environment, degree in HR related field, and with a demonstrated ability to manage high-volume employee transactions while maintaining confidentiality and service excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Employee Services & Administration:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing timely and accurate information on HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Process and maintain employee records, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations, ensuring high accuracy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate and execute onboarding and offboarding processes for employees across all functions.
- Advise employees on leave programs (e.g., FMLA, ADA accommodations) and coordinate with the Leave & Accommodations Team.
- Ensure compliance with document retention policies and maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
- Generate standard and custom HR reports from HR systems to support data-driven decision-making.
- Support for HR Business Partners (HRBP):
- Provide administrative support for employee relations cases, performance management efforts, and project/program management.
- Analyze trends and metrics to develop proactive HR solutions that address workforce challenges.
- Maintain documentation for processes like disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, investigations, and reporting indexes.
- Coordinate logistics for employee meetings, trainings, and other HR events.
- Support data collection and analysis for workforce planning, retention initiatives, and HR-related projects.
- HR Policy and Processes:
- Develop and recommend policy updates based on employment law changes or internal audits.
- Support the annual benefits enrollment process and related employee communications.
- Act as a liaison between Payroll and employees regarding shift changes and updates.
- Conduct exit interviews and manage separation-related tasks.
- Ensure HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as internal policy adherence.
- Assist with compliance reporting, including EEO-1 filings and affirmative action plans.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- 0-3 years of HR generalist or specialist experience, in a high-volume manufacturing, technology, or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of HR functions, including employee relations, investigations, leave administration, and accommodations.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Proficient with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong Excel skills
Interpersonal Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
- Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting a shift-based workforce in a 24/7 operation.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel applications and data analysis.
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish/Mandarin) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Primary onsite office environment with occasional visits to manufacturing areas.
- May require occasional weekend or after-hours support during critical periods.
- Flexibility to adjust schedule to support 24/7 manufacturing operations.
- Ability to manage a high volume of employee interactions in a fast-paced environment.
