Job Summary
The IT Infrastructure Operations Technician focuses on immediate response to infrastructure alerts, ensuring rapid recovery and continuous availability of critical infrastructure (database servers, network switches and routers, storage devices, etc.). You will diagnose and resolve incidents using SOPs, lead immediate response, and expertly escalate to 2nd/3rd line teams. This role requires strong analytical skills and collaboration to minimize downtime in our 24/7 high-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
- Act as the primary responder for critical infrastructure alerts and incidents, executing rapid recovery procedures to restore services and minimize impact to Fab and Office users.
- Monitor and provide fast recovery of vital infrastructure service and systems to include database servers, network switches and routers, and storage devices.
- Apply SOPs to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure alerts. For complex or unresolved issues, promptly escalate to 2nd line, ensuring comprehensive context and initial diagnostic findings are provided for efficient resolution.
- Lead the coordination of immediate incident response efforts, engaging and collaborating with 2nd and 3rd line support teams (e.g., K8S, Network, Database, Server (Linux/Windows), Storage) to drive quick resolution for high-visibility/outage-causing events.
- Develop or review Standard Operational Procedure documents.
- Assist with opening, tracking, and if asked follow-up of hardware repair cases.
- Collaborate with cabling and network teams to diagnose and resolve complex FAB Tool connectivity issues.
- Provide training and mentorship on critical event response and recovery protocols.
- Provide occasional support for business or office users when needed.
- Be willing to work on a compressed rotating work week schedule including nights and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and equivalent practical experience (3+ years) in an IT operations, NOC, or command center environment.
- Technical proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining core IT infrastructure components in at least two (2) of the following areas:
- Networking: Switches, routers (Cisco, HP), firewalls, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing.
- Server Systems: Server hardware diagnosis/remediation; Linux (RHEL, CLI) administration.
- Storage Systems: Scale-out SAN/NAS fundamentals, connectivity.
- Database Systems: Oracle, DB2 administration (monitoring, troubleshooting).
- Container Orchestration: Kubernetes architecture, Pod lifecycle, deployments, services, troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications, such as VMware, RHCE, CCNA are preferred.
Physical Requirements
- This role requires the ability to work across office, clean-room, and data center environments, performing tasks that range from standard office duties to specialized operations in controlled spaces, including the ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, and carry light objects.
- Occasionally lift or move to 40 pounds.
- Ability to use a computer, keyboard mouse and other standard office equipment for prolonged periods of time.

- Able to wear clean-room suit while standing and/or walking in the FAB as needed.
Shift Expectation:
TSMC Arizona operates 24/7, 365 days a year. This position requires candidates to have the ability and willingness to work any shift (day or night) in a compressed work week schedule once training is complete. The compressed work week shift structure is: Work 4 days on, 3 days off for one week, and 3 days on, 4 days off the next week. Each shift is 12 hours, from 6 AM to 6 PM or 6 PM to 6 AM. Scheduled night shifts and weekend on-call rotations are part of our 24/7 high-volume manufacturing environment. Initial shift assignments are fixed (though subject to change based on business needs) and will not rotate. Annual re-assignments, following a shift preference survey, will be based on seniority, with business needs taking precedence where necessary. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday during initial training.
