Junior Mechanical Piping Technician

• The Junior Mechanical Piping Technician supports the installation and maintenance of semiconductor Mechanical piping systems, including EXH, PCW, & piping support systems. Responsibilities include assisting with pipe cutting, threading, joining, and ensuring proper routing of mechanical pipes while adhering to safety, quality standards, and cleanliness protocols. The role also involves material handling, workspace cleanup, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in installing and maintaining mechanical piping systems, ensuring proper routing, secure connections, and compliance with regulations and cleanliness standards.
• Support tasks such as cutting, threading, joining, and bending pipes using techniques like welding, brazing, compression fittings, and mechanical coupling under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Learn to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and specifications related to mechanical pipe installations.
• Assist with material handling, equipment setup, and cleanup tasks, ensuring a safe and organized workspace in compliance with safety and cleanliness protocols.
• Help maintain accurate records of piping installations, repairs, and inspections for project documentation.
• Gain hands-on experience with tools and equipment required for mechanical piping work, including pipe threading machines, welding tools, and pressure testing equipment.
• Participate in on-the-job training and classroom instruction to develop technical skills, knowledge, and proficiency in mechanical piping systems.

• Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of mechanical or construction experience
• Technical Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions and adhere to technical standards.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to the requirements of mechanical piping systems.
• Ability to follow safety and cleanliness protocols for industrial environments.
• Ability to support international projects.

• Physical Requirements:
• Capable of lifting materials, working on ladders/lifts, and standing for long periods of time
• Training:
• Ability to travel to overseas for training for extended periods (length depends on business needs).

Shift Expectations:

• TSMC Arizona operates 24/7, 365 days a year. This position requires candidate to have ability and willingness to work any shift (day or night) in a compressed work week schedule once training is done. The compressed work week shift structure is Work 4 days on, 3 days off for one week and 3 days on, 4 days off the next week.  Shift is 12 hour shifts from 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am.
