Junior Process Piping Technician

• The Junior Process Piping Technician supports the installation and maintenance of semiconductor process piping systems, including UPW, plastic, gas, and chemical systems. Responsibilities include assisting with pipe cutting, threading, and joining using specialized techniques while adhering to cleanroom contamination protocols. The role also involves material handling, workspace cleanup, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in installing and maintaining semiconductor process piping systems for UPW, plastic, gas, & chemical, helping with proper routing, secure connections, and ensuring compliance with cleanroom contamination protocols.
• Support tasks such as cutting, threading, and joining pipes using techniques like welding, brazing, and compression under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Learn to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and specifications for semiconductor equipment installation.
• Assist material handling, basic equipment setup, and cleanup in compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
• Help maintain accurate records of piping installations and inspections as part of project documentation
• Gain hands-on experience with tools and equipment specific to semiconductor facilities, such as ultrapure water systems and gas delivery units.
• Participate in on-the-job training and classroom instruction to develop technical skills and knowledge.

• Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

• Education:
• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of process piping installation or construction experience
• Technical Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to the technical requirements of the semiconductor industry.
• Ability to follow cleanroom protocols.
• Ability to support international projects.

• Physical Requirements:
• The ability to lift equipment and tools, sometimes up to 35 pounds or even more with assistance for heavier items, working on ladders/lifts, working in tight spaces.
• Standing or walking for significant portions of the workday.
• Frequent grasping, manipulation, and occasional twisting, bending, stooping, squatting, or reaching.

• Training:
• Ability to travel to overseas for training for extended periods (length depends on business needs).

Shift expectations:

• TSMC Arizona operates 24/7, 365 days a year. This position requires candidate to have ability and willingness to work any shift (day or night) in a compressed work week schedule once training is done. The compressed work week shift structure is Work 4 days on, 3 days off for one week and 3 days on, 4 days off the next week.  Each shift is 12 hours, from 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am.

• Scheduled night shifts and weekend on-call rotations in a 24/7 high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Night shift rotations are expected to be no more than 4 months per calendar year.
• Standard work hours: Monday through Friday
