Photo Resist (PR) Manufacturing Specialist

Job Summary

As a Photo Resist Manufacturing Specialist, you will be part of TSMC's Manufacturing Department responsible for the safe and efficient replacement of photo resist chemical bottles used in our Lithography manufacturing processes. This critical role ensures the continuous operation of our production lines by maintaining an uninterrupted supply of photoresist, while strictly adhering to safety protocols, cleanroom procedures, and quality standards. This position requires regular physical activity, including lifting, standing and walking, within a controlled cleanroom environment. The specialist will be working in our state-of-the-art cleanroom facility and contribute directly to the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing process to produce the most advanced node in the semiconductor industry.

Essential Functions

Process Operations

  • Work onsite in cleanroom environment on 12–13-hour shifts, 3-4 days per week.
  • Strong sense of discipline and strict adherence to rules to ensure personal safety and prevent significant damage of production.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for delicate chemical bottle handling.
  • Monitor integrated systems to ensure proper functioning of automated tools
  • Monitor photo resist bottle levels on process equipment and proactively replace empty or near-empty bottles with full ones according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Ensure the pass-down notes thoroughly are delivered to the incoming shift
  • Awareness and understanding of safety requirements and strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to conduct day to day job.
  • Safely disconnect and connect chemical supply lines, ensuring no spills or contamination.
  • Properly dispose of empty bottles and associated waste materials in designated containers.
  • Accurately record bottle change-out times, lot numbers, and other relevant data in logs or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Perform basic visual inspections of photo resist delivery systems for leaks, damage, or anomalies during bottle replacement.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, leaks, or unusual observations to the appropriate personnel (e.g., maintenance, engineering, supervisor) immediately.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a team environment with a common goal
  • Typing speed of at least 25 words per minute

  • Fundamental Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/Word and computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and precision-oriented mindset
  • Must be able to work with computers extensively
  • Ability to follow detailed technical procedures

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, push carts for extended periods in cleanroom environment
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, squat down to replace items and climb small ladders/steps as needed
  • Safely lift, carry, and maneuver photo resist bottles, typically weighing between 11 lbs and 44 lbs, during replacement procedures.
  • Clean room environment requiring full PPE (full cleanroom suit, protective eyewear, gloves, hood, and mask).
  • Precise manual dexterity to perform precise tasks involving connecting/disconnecting lines.
  • Color vision requirements for label/tool/report status interpretation

Shift Structure

TSMC is 24/7 operation, 365 days per year. Most jobs will work in a compressed work week schedule but some roles do require a regular Monday - Friday schedule. Must have willingness to work any shift as needed for production support.

  • Initial Basic Training period Mon – Fri 9AM – 6PM
  • MOS training period dayshift or nightshift compressed work week or Regular Monday – Friday schedule
  • Compressed work week schedule:

Week 1: 4 days on/3 days off

Week 2: 3 days on/4 days off

Day shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Training & Development

Training for this position takes 3-4 months to learn the basics, which includes on the job training, standard operating procedure, and trainer led lessons. You will receive comprehensive training on PR bottle replacement handling processes, and fundamental concepts of manufacturing operations, leading toward professional development in semiconductor manufacturing.
