Job Description:

 TSMC Arizona is looking for a Principal Compensation Analyst to join our 4-nanometer fab, located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. Roles & Responsibilities

The Principal Compensation Analyst works under minimal direction to provide professional and analytical expertise in the analysis, benchmarking, design, documentation and approvals of compensation projects/programs to support our business needs while meeting all audit and regulatory requirements. They will drive complex compensation projects managing assigned areas and perform design and analysis to achieve project purpose and timeline; provide mentoring to more junior team members and ensure smooth transfer of design to compensation delivery department for implementation.

Research and analyze emerging trends and best practices. Design programs, model cost, generate insights and propose options to align with key stakeholders. Provide informed insights through proactive analyses. Advise the compensation compliance and delivery team on program design, policies, and guidelines to ensure understanding and smooth implementation. Act as the day-to-day contact on compensation design matters liaising with other key stakeholders, including AZ Corporate groups, Overseas Compensation, external vendors, AZ HR teammates, and other TSMC entities. Collaborate with our Headquarter TRD teams to support cross-functional work efficiency and alignment and provide local support to HQ projects.

 

 

 

The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to:

  • Set up complex spreadsheets, perform required compensation & data analytics and collect stakeholder feedback to develop and recommend solutions for unique and often complex business challenges.  Create data models inclusive of alternative design options, cost impacts, pros/cons, and recommendations.  Leverage AI for insights and work stream efficiencies.
  • Conduct extensive qualitative/quantitative analysis on overall pay structure and programs including annual market analysis, incentive analysis, job leveling, benchmark assessment, cost/benefit analysis, compliance, pay equity, and organizational impact in a timely and accurate manner. Develop and deliver total rewards presentations and education materials in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Support key, and often complex, initiatives in alignment with a scaling operation.
  • Partner in knowledge transfer with compensation delivery to implement compensation design and strategies to improve operational processing and productivity in a startup environment.
  • Proactively develop, audit, and maintain complex excel reports to support data analysis.
  • Support Company audits as needed.  Ensure company compliance with relevant audit, laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain current and required documentation as assigned for Plan documents, policies, procedures (SOPs), and controls.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Minimum of Six (6) years of direct compensation department experience including five (5) years of progressive, professional experience in advanced compensation benchmarking, survey management, end-to-end compensation program  analysis, design, implementation and monitoring for performance, preferably in a multi-national corporation, scaling manufacturing operation, or consultancy firm. Desirable to have industry experience in semiconductors, hi-tech, or advanced manufacturing/engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of compensation best practices, audit and regulatory environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced excel skills to include experience building data models, v-lookup, pivot-tables, formulas, and willing to learn macros.
  • Strong math skills and understanding of statistics and regression analysis.
  • Experience with HCM, PeopleSoft desirable
  • Experience with surveys, Radford and WTW desirable
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
  • Excellent collaboration & communication skills, both verbal and written, across different levels and functions of organization.
  • Strong problem-solving, initiative, critical thinking and learning ability.
  • Flexibility to work extended time.
  • CCP in progress desirable; completed highly preferred.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily an office-based role requiring the ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard mouse and other standard office equipment for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, and carry light objects.
  • May require occasional travel to company sites or other meetings that involve walking through office, industrial or construction environments.
