Supporting the Director of Public Relations, this Public Relations Manager will help raise positive awareness of the company’s leadership in the industry, contribution to the community, environmental stewardship, and work culture. This role will support our storytelling to many external audiences, and through several external channels such as news media and social media. This person will be expected to respond quickly and professionally and manage media inquiries regarding TSMC Arizona. This Manager will maintain a TSMC Arizona PR calendar, collaborate and direct external agencies, maintain and refresh media assets and serve as a project manager for media events. This Manager role may also direct public relations activities associated with TSMC Arizona’s community relations events.
While this role is an individual contributor role, strong collaboration across teams will be important. This Public Relations Manager will work across such groups as TSMC headquarters public relations, employee communications, government relations, human resources, fab operations and the TSMC Arizona ESG employee community task force.
Responsibilities:
- Support for execution and management of external communications initiatives to build positive awareness of TSMC Arizona.
- Serve as a point of contact as directed by the Public Relations Director for local and national media inquiries. Write and distribute press content and pitches. Prepare media responses, reactive messages.
- Arrange and manage logistics for media interviews and spokesperson briefing materials.
- Create monthly/quarterly PR calendars, support development of annual PR plans.
- Proactively develop story ideas which advance TSMC Arizona’s communications goals.
- Ideate, write and manage content for the TSMC Arizona website, and also TSMC’s social media that aligns with company messaging. Responsible for setting up and managing any new external-facing digital channels.
- Create, curate and manage any new content for external use (e.g. fact sheets, one-page summaries, images, graphics, video, infographics).
- Manage external PR/communications agencies/vendors and direct project management of vendor work.
- Partner with Employee Communications on content calendar for the purposes of educating employees on external activities. Provide content to Employee Communications for distribution to employees via email and intranet.
- Partner with HR and workforce development teams on shared programs to promote TSMC’s Arizona to prospective recruits.
- Serve on TSMC Arizona ESG Committee, support as directed selected employee volunteer events.
- Support the Director of Public Relations in crisis and issues management as directed. In some instances, this person may need to manage crisis response independently, in close alignment with site crisis response team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or minimum 10 years of direct experience in media or public relations
- Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to craft messages that connect and resonate across diverse audiences
- Crisis and issues communications experience which includes message preparation, responding and directing news media, senior executive communication and alignment with employee communication
- Social media content creation and channel management experience a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
- Effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization, individuals and teams.
- Quickly understand and effectively communicate complex, technical subject matter.
- Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to changing priorities and short deadlines.
- Organized with a strong attention to project management detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and internet and social media research.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and working on a majority of the time.
- This role frequently moves throughout the facility and between departments as part of daily operational tasks.

Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix, Arizona facility.
Standard work hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
