[Summer 2025] Central Start-up Team (CST) Tool Install Engineer Intern
As a Central Start Up (CST) Intern you will oversee the installation of manufacturing equipment and tools, Conduct site assessments and prepare installation plans, collaborate with internal teams to manage timelines and deliverables. All interns will be a part of a 10-week technical development program within our state-of-the-art semiconductor facilities. This program is designed to identify future engineering leaders of TSMC Arizona. The development program will offer valuable industry and functional insight. You will have the opportunity to have a mentor, learn from senior engineers, and interact with executives at the company. Example projects include: Perform a survey of a construction site identifying the status of various construction elements, Develop a detailed proposal that outlines specific opportunities for optimization within the schedule, Present the findings and optimization strategies in a clear and concise manner, either through a written report or a visual presentation.
What you will learn & how you will contribute:
Interns will be shown how to update or create a milestone tracking document that accurately reflects the current status of the project and forecasts potential adjustments needed in the project timeline.
Interns will be coached how to create trends based on onsite data, make data-based decisions, and implement process improvements.
Interns will evaluate potential risks associated with the proposed changes to the schedule and suggest mitigation strategies to ensure project success despite alterations.
Interns will learn to effectively identify true optimization opportunities and how to creatively problem-solve.
Interns will be shown how to demonstrate project management skills by identifying bottlenecks in the installation process and present a well-structured plan to address the identified issue, including potential solutions and a communication strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States and have:
- Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university, in one of the following degree programs: Bachelors/Masters, Mechanical Engineering.
- Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) on-site at our Phoenix location from May 19th, 2025 – August 1st, 2025 for semester system schools or June 16th, 2025 – August 29th, 2025 for quarter system.
- Technical skills: Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes, An understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems in industrial equipment, Experience with project management tools and methodologies to oversee installation timelines and resources
- Strong communication, computer, presentation, listening, working with others needed to contribute to the team and TSMC Arizona’s culture.
