TSMC Arizona is looking for a Water Process Engineer – Chemical and Environmental to join our F21 IRWP (Industrial Reclamation Water Plant), located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. The Water Process Engineer is responsible for participating in the Design Build IRWP process treatment build out. Our Fab system operations and IRWP are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without factory interruption, creating a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. Process engineers work closely with all TSMC internal departments (Operations, ISEP, EHS, Procurement) Design Builder, Facility teams, suppliers and vendors daily to understand systems reliability and quality concerns and work to resolve issues.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, system design and verification, and technical reviews.
- Cross-organizational communication, coordination, and problem-solving.
- Assessment and implementation of innovative technologies to address new process challenges and promote environmental friendliness.
- Design tailored to Federal, local, and all AHJ (Authorities having jurisdiction) regulations and requirements.
- Review of project submittals and RFI’s for qualification.
- Comparison to TSMC (F21AZ and HQ) standards
Recruitment Requirements:
- Graduated from university with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science or another relevant engineering field.
- More than 2 years of professional experience in water treatment systems in semiconductor or other mission critical industry is preferred but not required.
- Work with water quality reports, PFD’s, and mass flow balance for process waste streams.
- Possess project management and communication coordination skills, with experience in UPW, process wastewater, industrial post-treatment facilities, being a plus.

- Ability to innovate, think quickly, and align with key stakeholders to provide solutions.
Physical Requirements:
- May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.
- Required to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and to adjust heavy objects.
- The position will come in contact with sharp, hot, and cold equipment, and parts.
- Must be medically qualified to wear a personal respirator.
- Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with industrial chemical operations, exposure to the sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment.
- Must have the ability to safely climb ladders, and work at elevation from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs, or platforms, and the ability to work in confined spaces.

Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix Arizona facility.
Standard work hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
