Account Manager/Technical Manager

TSMC North America

Account Manager/Technical Manager (7987)

Overview of Role

The Account Manager serves as a primary commercial and operational interface between TSMC North America and its advanced-node and 3DIC customers, managing the business relationship across quotation and pricing, demand forecasting and fulfillment, new tape-out management, and technology-roadmap engagement. Based within the North America Account Management organization and reporting to the Account Management Director, this role coordinates closely with TSMC headquarters in Taiwan and with internal operations, planning, pricing, and Field Technical Support (FTS) teams to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction. It is a hands-on role at the outset that grows into broader account ownership and new-business enablement, offering a seasoned semiconductor professional the opportunity to shape how TSMC supports its most advanced technology customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end business relationship for assigned accounts, leading pricing and quotation discussions and ensuring there is no disconnect between the customer and TSMC.
  • Own demand forecasting and fulfillment, aligning internal forecast and program execution across operations and planning to close the loop and complete the business.
  • Drive new tape-out management — planning, execution, and operational coordination with headquarters customer service for new product introductions on advanced nodes.
  • Promote TSMC's technology roadmap to customers and coordinate internal resources across operations, planning, pricing, and Field Technical Support (FTS) to meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Resolve production and supply issues across the factory, headquarters, and customer, and grow into account strategy and new-business enablement over time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, a related engineering/science discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 12 or more years of relevant semiconductor industry experience in account management, business development, technical program management, or applications/field engineering.
  • Demonstrated program or project management experience and prior team-lead experience with strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong semiconductor domain knowledge, with the ability to discuss process technology and packaging technology credibly with customers at engineering, program management, and executive levels.
  • Financial and commercial acumen, with availability to coordinate regularly with TSMC headquarters in Taiwan during evening hours (approximately four to five nights per week).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
  • Direct experience with 3DIC and 3nm-and-below technologies.
  • Hands-on integrated circuit (IC) or process-integration background complementing customer-facing experience.
  • Experience spanning quotation, demand forecasting, new tape-out management, and technology-roadmap promotion within a foundry, fabless, or semiconductor supplier environment.
  • Background gained at a leading semiconductor customer, competitor, or supplier organization.

What Success Looks Like

90 days: Hands-on and contributing on task-level account and operational work.

6 months: Developing and extending existing account work in a more business-oriented direction.

1 year: Operating as a full Account Manager — supporting customers directly and enabling new business.
