Circuit Designer(5658)
Overview of Role
We are looking for creative and highly motivated circuit designers with the potential to define and lead the new research areas on next generation chip design. The successful candidates will serve as a key intellectual leader and contributor in bringing novel circuit techniques from whiteboard ideas to silicon demonstrations. In addition, the candidates will have the opportunity to significantly impact the expansion of TSMC’s business and grow as future technical leader of the global research community.
Responsibilities
- Perform research and development work to evaluate PPA of circuit-level novelties and tapeout proof-of-concept chips
- Work with multifunctional teams which include colleagues with expertise in device, circuit, architecture, and system
- Collaborate with external university and industry partners on research topics
- Convert results of innovative works into patents and publications
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Solid background in circuit design and hands-on experience with a tapeout flow
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of emerging memory, AI accelerator, or memory controller functionality
- In-depth knowledge in one or more areas of memory technology (SRAM, RRAM, MRAM, and PCRAM), memory macro (sense amplifier, write circuitry, LDO, charge pump, and ADC/DAC,), or accelerator designs (in-memory compute, near-memory computing, and systolic array).
- 3+ years of experience in circuit design and tape out using either custom or digital design flow.
- A strong publication, patent, and research collaboration history is a huge advantage.
- Track record of research excellence or significant product development
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Pay Transparency / Benefits Statement
At TSMC, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role typically pays a base salary between $128,500 and $175,000 per year. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range. Factors that influence pay include the individual's skills, qualifications, education, experience and the position level and location. TSMC’s total compensation package consists of market competitive pay, allowances, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. We also offer extensive development opportunities and programs.
