Facilities Maintenance Assistant (Limited Term: 12 month Contract) (7245)

Overview of Role

The Facilities maintenance assistant will hold a number of responsibilities within the San Jose, CA office. Primary role includes maintaining overall appearances of the office environment, meeting setups, employee requests and assisting the facilities department with a wide range of tasks. Additionally, the maintenance assistant will partner with the Senior Facilities Technician with all day-to day functions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with light building maintenance, minor electrical, plumbing, and construction tasks
  • Setup employee meetings and assist with departmental and employee moves
  • Perform regular inspections of building grounds and maintain a safe, clean office environment
  • Dismantle and install furniture as needed
  • Perform immediate cleaning duties to maintain facility cleanliness
  • Complete other maintenance tasks assigned by facilities team members
  • Expectation to work five days a week with minimum three days in the office and possibility more

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 1~3 years facilities experience or similar
  • Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize workload
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Experience overseeing and directing vendors and contractors
  • Understanding of safety practices for job sites
  • Working knowledge of Word and Outlook
  • Physical ability to perform job requirements –
  • Able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of time
  • Some heavy lifting required, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be comfortable and able to work on a ladder up to 10 feet

  • Must be able to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with all employees, contractors, and vendors
  • Must be a team player and able to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and to meet tight deadlines
