[Fall 2024] Design Research Intern (5525)

 

About the Job
We are looking for 6 months internship in Corporate Research Design Solution team in San Jose Design Center. You will work closely with internal teams and external collaborators to explore new solutions for the next generation chip design.  You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build new skills and insights while working with industrial R&D professionals.  You will participate in research group meetings and will have the opportunity to present your work. The ideal candidate should have good research capability and enthusiastic to solve scientific and engineering challenges. TSMC Corp, Ltd. is a leading semiconductor manufacturing company, and we are looking for the right individuals and talent to join our R&D team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and development works to evaluate PPA of circuit-level novelties and participate in a proof-of-concept chip tapeout.
  • Perform assigned research and engineering tasks under the guidance from senior team members.
  • Convert results of innovative works into patents and publications.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD students with major in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Availability for a 6-months internship from summer to fall.
  • Solid background in circuit design and hands-on experience with a tapeout flow
  • In-depth knowledge in one or more areas of memory technology (SRAM, RRAM, MRAM, and PCRAM), memory macro (sense amplifier, write circuitry, LDO, charge pump, and ADC/DAC,), or accelerator designs (in-memory compute, near-memory computing, and systolic array).

  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-driven and pro-active in new technologies.
  • Good teamwork sills.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills.

At TSMC, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role typically pays an hourly rate between $36 and $43. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range.
