High-Speed Circuit Design Engineer (5455 )

Overview of Role

As a High-Speed Circuit design engineer, you will be participating with R&D activities in high-speed wireline and optical interfaces using fundamental analog circuit techniques and communication theories, for circuits operating with speed from 32Gbps to 224Gbps. You will be reporting directly to the Director of Advanced Data Converters Department in San Jose, CA. We are currently operating in a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in office.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform research and development work to evaluate PPA of circuit-level novelties and tapeout.
  • Work with multifunctional teams which include colleagues with expertise in device, circuits, and systems to translate design or system level requirement to process technology requirements via Design/System and Technology Co-optimization (DTCO/STCO).
  • Collaoorate with university and industry partners on exploratory research topics and develop key conclusions on technical directions.
  • Convert results of innovative works into patents, IP or test-chips, and publications.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • MS/PhD degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering  
  • Solid background in analog circuit design, preferably wireline I/F, SerDes or data converters

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in designing high-speed/high-frequency circuits is a strong plus.
  • Basic understanding of communication theory, termination, channel analysis, clock jitter, low power design, chiplets, serdes, co-packaged optics, error correction, and equalization, are desirable
  • Experience with custom analog design/layout and tape-out Tool/Flow/Methodology

Pay Transparency / Benefits statement

At TSMC, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role typically pays a base salary between $129,500 and $200,000 per year. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range. Factors that influence pay include the individual's skills, qualifications, education, experience and the position level and location.  TSMC’s total compensation package consists of market competitive pay, allowances, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.
