Overview of Role
The TSMC North America Legal division is seeking an experienced paralegal wishing to execute, develop, and improve our handling of litigation, e-discovery, contract management, and legal operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional project management skills, the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, leading through influence and not rank, and being comfortable with being accountable. The successful candidate will exhibit reliability, enthusiasm, organization, and communication skills, while embodying TSMC’s core values of Integrity, Commitment, Innovation, and Customer Trust.
Responsibilities
- Oversee, influence, and develop processes to manage Legal division functions including:
- Commercial claims
- Litigation and e-discovery
- Recording, tracking, and managing deadlines
- Compliance programs support
- General Legal operations
- Manage contracts for internal review and approval, archival, and retrieval processes
- Prepare comprehensive department activity reports
- Assist with dispute resolution and civil litigation procedures, including mediation arrangements, litigation holds, and timely court filings
- Track Legal division budgets, including overseeing outside counsel billing guidelines and processes to review and approve invoices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, with at least 5 years of paralegal experience (preferably with significant in-house law department experience).
- Expertise in handling legal matters and documents typical for an in-house legal department, such as corporate filings, board resolutions, meeting minutes, civil litigation procedures, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in business writing, proofreading, and composition with the ability to synthesize legal information, counsel advice, and data into clear, concise, and insightful summaries.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate well-crafted matter summaries.
- The ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals across various roles and build relationships to effectively accomplish your job duties.
- Eager to embrace new challenges and engage in continuous professional development.
- Mandarin language skill is valued but not required.
- Must have advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to function within a team and to build relationships with valued customers.

Pay Transparency Statement
At TSMC, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role typically pays an annual base salary between $88,053 and $118,123 per year. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range. Factors that influence pay include the individual's skills, qualifications, education, experience and the position level and location.
