Sr. Benefits Specialist - Temporary Position (6776)

Overview of Role

We are currently in search of an experienced Sr. Benefits Specialist at our office in San Jose, CA. This is a temporary assignment from June 2025 to Sept. 2025. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Total Rewards, the Sr. Benefits Specialist will be an integral part of the Total Rewards team. They will be heavily involved in our benefits plans and programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep, subject matter knowledge on leaves and is passionate about all aspects of benefits. There may be opportunities to extend the temporary period or transition to a full-time direct hire, contingent upon performance, adherence to company policies, and business needs. We are currently operating in a hybrid work model with 4 days in office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the interactive process for leave of absence (LOA) programs, including but not limited to FMLA, CFRA, ADA, SDI etc.
  • Support Health Insurance administration and billing reconciliation
  • Manage Time-off systems and support the annual PTO cash out program
  • Prepare and distribute government-required notices to applicable employees, such as ACA, earned income credits, etc.
  • Administrate the Wellness Program
  • Assist with 401(k) administration, including all data maintenance, NDT and true-up calculation.
  • Support the administration of Lifestyle Spending Accounts program
  • Support the administration of the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), including all data maintenance in Computershare. Reconcile the ESPP monthly report and payroll reports 
  • Partner cross-functionally to support benefits deductions, data reconciliations, audits, and report processing in ADP
  • Monitor regulatory changes affection leave, accommodations, and other benefit programs to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws
  • Support HR Total Rewards’ day-to-day operations
  • Performs additional HR duties as assigned

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, finance/accounting, or business related field
  • 10+ years of direct HR experience in benefits and/or absence management experience; other HR experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. state and federal laws pertaining to protected leaves and accommodations.
  • Experience working in a fast pace working environment with deadline driven and quick turnaround time 
  • Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills; strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficient with ADP Workforce Now
  • High ethical standards and the ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Conversational proficiency in Mandarin is preferred

At the time of this posting, this role typically pays an hourly rate between $45.00 and $65.00 per hour. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires.
