Summer 2026 - Business Strategy Intern (7427)
Overview of Role
We are seeking a highly motivated intern to support TSMC North America Strategy Office projects. This role will focus on understanding key customer and end market dynamics, demand drivers and interdependencies to inform strategic decisions. The ideal candidate is curious, resourceful, analytical and has a base level of understanding of semiconductor and technology industry.
This Internship Program is open to students currently enrolled in a degree-seeking University who are graduating in 1-2 years with a master’s degree. The Summer 2026 internship will begin in June 2026 and continue through August 2026. We currently operate under a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in our San Jose, CA office. This is a paid internship designed to provide structured hands-on learning, broad visibility into the semiconductor and tech industry, and senior executive exposure, while complying with California and federal employment laws.
Responsibilities
- Analyze selective technology and semiconductor end markets, including value chain dynamics, customer requirements (technical and commercial), demand drivers and sensitivity
- Assess relevant industry trends across semiconductor companies and ecosystem players, such as technology adoption trends, investment profile, and supply outlook
- Conduct primary research across broad sources (e.g., analysts, filing, industry reports, databases)
- Collaborate with stakeholders in TSMC North America and Taiwan to pressure test and iterate findings
- Create quantitative models on selective priority market segments (e.g., size, growth, financials)
- Develop executive-ready synthesis on key insights and recommendations
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience or knowledge in the semiconductor industry or selective hardware system segments (e.g., AI, Server, Phone, PC)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to structure and tackle broad problems
- Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, data analytics and visualization tools
Prior experiences in market / equity research, consulting, and strategy preferred

At the time of this posting, this role typically pays an hourly rate between $32 and $36 per hour. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range. Factors that influence pay include the individual's skills, qualifications, education, experience and the position level and location.
