Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Storage Engineer with 6+ years of expertise to help design, optimize, and manage TSMC large-scale data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional enterprise storage and modern cloud-native solutions, with a deep understanding of both high-performance block/file systems and scalable object Storage environments. We are looking for a professional who is passionate about building resilient storage architectures, designing and implementing storage systems  and leveraging automation to support our mission-critical SRE operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hybrid Storage Architecture: Design and implement high-performance storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and Object Storage (S3-compatible) to meet the demands of precision manufacturing.
  • Vendor Ecosystem Management: Configure and maintain tier-1 storage platforms such as NetApp , Dell EMC and MinIO.
  • Integration & Automation: Develop and maintain APIs and scripts (Python, Go, or Bash) to automate storage workflows, provisioning, and capacity management.
  • Troubleshooting: Act as a tier-3 escalation point for complex storage-related hardware and software issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaboration: Partner with DevOps, Cloud Engineers, and Infrastructure teams to integrate storage solutions into existing CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience: 6+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage engineering.
  • Storage Expertise: Good understanding of two or more storage protocols, such as NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, and FC.
  • Programming/Scripting: Experience using Python, Go, or Bash to automate infrastructure tasks and storage management.
  • Troubleshooting: Advanced Level-3 troubleshooting skills for resolving complex hardware/software and network-storage interactions.
  • Communication: Strong technical communication skills for collaborating with global cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Kubernetes: Experience with containerized storage solutions and CSI drivers for persistent storage in Kubernetes.
  • Vendor Hardware: Hands-on experience with NetApp, Dell EMC hardware.
  • Scale: Proven track record of managing multi-petabyte environments.

Work Location & Schedule:

This position is based on-site at our Vancouver, Washington location during core business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Additional hours may be required to meet project demands.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting salary typically ranges between $137,300 and $183,650 per year. The full salary range for this Job Grade extends from $137,300 - $199,100 depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, tenure, and position level. TSMC’s total compensation package also includes market-competitive pay, profit sharing and incentive bonuses, and tuition assistance.
